" THE MORE U CARE, LESS U PAY
THE LESS U CARE, MORE U PAY "
Keeping myself fit is which I consider of utmost importance in my day-to-day lifestyle. But there is an enormous amount of difference in mere 'going to the gym and being acquainted with the form of exercise' , and 'going to gym and exercising in an ad hoc manner'. In this post ill keep myself only to gym and will not go to other forms of fitness since I am privy to the Gym myths which i have came across hearing around from people who consider themselves to be intelligent enough to start up exercise in any form and end up resting in bed breaking their muscle or a ligament.
If ur about to join a gym and really wanna become a Rocky Balboa please don't think that shaping up your body and to bring in definition of that sort is a joke or u'll be able to build it in some days or a week or so...and if somebody manages to do that will be through Anabolic steroids and, even if ur not using Anabolics and if u still think u have such kinda body and it took u hardly 7 days then do me a favour pls. press ALT+F4.This post is not meant fr u.[:)]
Human body is a masterpiece in itself it will react better than u would have ever wanted and vice-versa matter can go worse and u can end up hating gym or hating urself for not able to do so.It is not necessary that a kind of plan which worked for some person may necessarily work for u. U will need to see for yourself whether the exercise pattern u've been following worked for u or not. If not then do and try to glean some other exercise pattern from your trainer which may suite you.

Here are some which I have heard which I consider as a "Myth":
MYTH#1:
One day I when i was hanging out with my friends I heard a person advising his friend that:
"If u want to build ur body eat at least 12 bananas per day u'll become Hrithik Roshan i guarantee" Lol!!! that was some piece of trash. First of all, OMFG! 12 bananas a day! are u kiddin me!! Banana for what i know consist of Carbohydrates(Carbs) can provide u with calorie backup but wont help building ur muscles or give shape/definition to your body, after some months or so ur body will look like a "dough" if u have only bananas as ur intake. U need a strong nutrition which consists of a balanced amount of carbs, protiens and really small percentages of fats(mind u i'm not talkin abt the abysmal fats[trance fats]). Trust me ur nutrition is ur backbone in body-building keep it on track u will start getting fruitful results.
MYTH#2:
Some people feel that only by lifting heavy weight in an exercise (whether they may not be capable enough of lifting that weight or either require a lot of support for the exercise)think that by doing so they surely will become a bon-ton. My experience is that the whichever exercise u may take u should be able to do that exercise with a perfect form i.e. on whichever muscle the exercise is intended to work on. It is not merely about lifting a heavy weight. For ex. whats the use if ur taking triceps Pushdown and u have hinged shoulders that would change the sense of that very exercise or may it be Biceps curls where ur elbow should be fixed and taking the repetitions in a tidy manner.
MYTH #3:
Usually people misinterpret Protein Powder with Creatine or some other kind of murky stuff. U guyz may be thinking that I may be advertising the protein powder but those who have timid thinking or have some kind of misconception but Protein Powder is nothing but a supplement of protein it is really good if someone can have a natural intake of protein eg. chicken, eggs, soyabean etc. but those who are allergic to these natural supplements or are vegetarian can opt for Protein Powder. But even if u do buy one please ensure its authentication and make sure that it not adulterated.
MYTH#4:
This myth is related to the above myth those who consider that the more protein intake u take more muscle you gain. Our body needs protein but in a limited quantity overdose of protein will result in nothing but waste which u will be peeing in the form of Nitrogen. So there's no use no matter how much extra protein u take in.
MYTH#5:
This one is a big myth in my view that people tend to do cardio-vascular exercise only with the intention of weight loosing and think that "their body will automatically tone up", as if the huge deposits of fat which have been deposited after some serious sessions of trans fat intake over the years. By cardio u basically loose calories and there's nothing as such that more fat will deplete and all such bullshit.
The muscle and fat are opposites, and as the fat grows muscle depletes and as the muscles grow the fat depletes. By muscle i mean to say is the Lean Body Mass(good weight) and the fats/lipids considered as "bad weight ". This process of loosing fat first and building muscles later is a first of all is a very lengthy process and an inefficient process and u will end up with hundreds of appalling stretch-marks on your body. The solution to this can be first of all "Avoid Fatty food " and even if ur fat then by muscle training u may save some great amount of time and gain some useful results for ur hard work.
MYTH #6:
It is considered that it is only a good workout if ur sore the next day.
this is the most common gym myth that exists but it is not so. Soreness is related to a number of factors, none of which directly correlate to muscle growth. In fact, Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) occurs when nerve endings get inflamed after micro trauma to your muscle tissue. In short, don't overdo it.
MYTH#7:
General mentality of people that I have come across say so "look at that kid which has never gone to gym and see he is so healthy and look at his muscles " and the moment i looked at the guy he had big tire round his abdomen bulging out of all angles and overpowered his belt and i could nowhere see any muscle definition in his body anywhere, ewww [:(] that was an ugly site for me, if this was considered as fit i don't want to be this kinda fit. Hell no! people interpret those people as healthy or who has a good body which by his outer appearance looks to be fat specially in case of boys mark my words and u can do nothing to change the mindset of these kind of people.
MYTH#8:
The last myth is on the convention that people make is that if you stop lifting weight your muscle turns to fat which is so untrue. Muscle cannot physically turn into fat but if u stop lifting weight your muscle may reduce in size which may result in decrease in metabolism.
A decrease in metabolism will hinder your ability to burn as many calories, thus resulting in an increase in body fat.Your muscles won't "turn into" fat, but a decrease in metabolism will increase overall body fat.
These are the most common gym myths which I have come across and please do let me know if any of you have come across any other Gym myths.
